Map Testing

In May, we will begin our third round of MAP testing. This round will consist of 2 computerized tests at separate times (math and reading).

Our class is scheduled to take the MAP Math Test on Friday, May 10 from 1:10-2:30.

Our class is scheduled to take the MAP Reading Test on Tuesday, May 28 from 1:10-2:30.

What is the MAP Test?
NWEA’s computerized tests are called Measure of Academic Progress or MAP. When taking a MAP test, the difficulty of each question is based on how well a student answers all the previous questions. As the student answers correctly, questions become more difficult. If the student answers incorrectly, the questions become easier. In an optimal test, a student answers approximately half the items correctly and half incorrectly. The final score is an estimate of the student’s achievement level.

How to Help Your Child?
To help your child, please ensure they get a good night sleep the night before and a good breakfast the morning of the test.

Practice at Home:
Check out these websites to practice at home. Use your child's RIT score from their fall MAP tests (highlighted number) to find out which activity to best start. Feel free to email me if you need your child's RIT score emailed to you.
